The Star ( one of our local newspapres here in Malaysia ) is serious old fashion. Sometimes I start to think if it is runned by dinosaurs or something. Here is an example of why I say so.

I recently got into an arguement with someone on Facebook on the topic of PHP on Windows vs on Linux, I tried to be as neutral as possible but it the end that person was being such a Microsoft fanboy that I have to throw him some solid facts that even he can't deny.

I have been thinking about this, seeing the recent Web Browsers market share, it looks like the browsers which are trashing Internet Explorer's market share has 1 thing in common, they are both open source ( Google Chrome and Mozilla FireFox ). Apple's Safari hasn't been making much improvements in terms of innovation, but not in terms of market share so I will leave this out of the discussion. What I have been pondering about is should Opera Web Browser adopt the open source model ?

TM Net ( or probably TM Nut as known by the internet / blogging community ) has always been accussed for limiting peer-2-peer downloads like torrent with the excusse that it eats up into other people's internet speed. So they implement something called a "Fair Usage Policy" that says they only limit heavy downloaders, but seriously I don't believe it one bit. It is a load of bull shit.

I was just browsing the web searching my normal technology news and notice an Google Ad to win a Free Windows Phone 7. I caught my eye cause it was a local advert for Malaysia, something which HTC Malaysia was sponsering. I taught, why not, lets see what this contest is about. So I clicked it. and went to see what it is all about.

Last month, YTL lauched a new "4G" service in malaysia, which they claimed suppose to be the best and the next big thing. Yea it is the next big thing alright, the next big flop. I was thinking P1 was bad, but after seeing Yes.my I can conclude that they ( P1 ) is much much better compare to this piece of shit.

I have reduced my gaming habits quite a bit over the last 2 years, I spend more time doing other stuff online compare to gaming, but there is a dark side to all these online stuff besides losing your privacy, it is also more time consuming then anything else.

I have already showed you a demo of what Nokia and Intel plans to do with MeeGo operating system, some things will mimic Android and some are unique to itself, but the main thing that will determine the success and failure of MeeGo will be both Broandband and mobile internet.

How many people who in college/university learn Web Development using Content Management Systems? I am sure there are a handful who do, but majority of colleges/universities all tend to teach web development using a certain company's tools/software.

What I think about IE8, besides saying it sucks, sucks and sucks. Well frankly, IE8 is not as bad as say IE7 or IE6, but IE8 has the inherited the same dam problem that the previous IE's all have, which is following standards. Currently all other major browsers can get 100/100 for Acid3 test (Opera, Safari and Chrome) with Firefox a little behind with 93/100, but IE8 is only 20/100.

Well maybe for people like me, when google showcased is new "OS", which just turned out to be the Chrome Web Browser sitting on top the Linux kernel, I was skeptical about the whole thing. Sure, I do spend most of my time online compare to anything else I do on my computer, but also I am a bit of a gamer, so once in a while I do dwell into a good offline role-playing game (Mass Effect, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Fable: The Lost Chapters, etc etc). So I almost was one of the few people who taught Chrome OS was CRAP. (I repeat ALMOST). Then it got me thinking, most of my cousin's who come to my place, (I got a big family, I got many cousin age 12 of below) always ask me if they can use my computer and ask me launch a web browser. (of course they normally ask for IE, but I always give them Chrome or Opera, depending on my machine). They always go to these websites (pulled it off my history):

This is a summary of one of the presentations I did at BarCamp Melaka 2009 at Multimedia University which took place on the 14th and 15th of November. The topic of my presentation is as stated above, I was quite lucky that my session got over 50+ people out of the 170 people who attended the BarCamp.
