Tips on How to share SAYS.my campaigns

On of the ways most of the youths in Malaysia earn some extra pocket money is by using SAYS.my and sharing commercial campaigns across various social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, or perhaps even that new Google+. I noticed there some people who are still in the dark on the best practices on how to garner the most clicks possible on their campaign links so hence I decided to write this small mini-guide.

The first thing is you got to understand what is a Viral Trigger. A Viral Trigger decides if your message flies through social media at 12km per hour or 120km per hour. A Viral Trigger is the difference between getting shared vs getting ignored. A Viral Trigger is the secret to social media, doesn't matter if it is regarding blogs posting, Tweets, or even Facebook status updates. Having a good Viral Trigger ensures that your postings are clicked upon.

So when sharing SAYS.my campaigns, you can either use the default Viral Trigger(s) provided by SAYS.my or you may one to come up with your own. Normally the default one is already quite good and share-able, but personalizing it may lead up to even more clicks on your campaign link.

Relate to current events

I am sure anyone who hasn't been living under a rock would know how the recently Bersih 2.0 event was flooding the social media stream, here is an example oh how one of my friends promoted the that SAYS.my planking contest by relating it to Bersih.

As you can see, he has also used a URL shorterner to disguise the link, and since he is talking about something which people are interested and related it to a current campaign SAYS.my is running many people have clicked on it. ( he got total 100+ unique visits , and around 30+ each day for 3 days ).  You also can see from the 21 comments that people are interested in this topic.

Use questions

If possible try to use questions when you promote a campaign. Why I say questions is because for your friends to answer the question they need to click on the link first, before the can answer.

As you can see, he has shared the campaign again, but this time he changed it into a question. Why this will work is for your friends to answer the question they must click and view the campaign page first before they can response.

Make it a bit controversial

When we promote campaigns, we are not people from that particular company, we are free to express our opinions about the campaign, and making the viral trigger controversial will perk the interest of your friends to click on it.

Above is one of the campaigns that is currently running on SAYS.my now. It is about Maxis' new prepaid data service plans. It is basically tries to show how bloggers who travel a lot can now use Maxis' data services to blog when they are abroad. Let's say even if you don't use Maxis, you are a Digi or Celcom user, you can still promote it with a controversial statement like below.

Share it multiple times.

Sharing one time is not enough, one should share the same campaign at least twice a day everyday until you either reach the click-limit or the campaign is over. Multiple times also can mean sharing it accross many different social networks and not just a single platform. Use every network you have at your fingertips.

Sharing one time only might not get you many unique clicks as it might be missed once it falls on the bottom of your social stream, hence why it is recommended for more than once.
